This webinar is part 2 of a series of 2 presentations.
Calidris is composed of 23 species, making it the largest genus within the large family Scolopacidae (Sandpipers (94 species worldwide, 66 in North America). All 23 species in the genus Calidris have been found in North America, 19 of which have occurred in California. Only Great Knot, Broad-billed Sandpiper, Temminck’s Stint, and Spoon-billed Sandpiper have not been recorded in the state, and as for Great Knot, well half of one turned up! Join Jon Dunn as he presents an overview of the genus Calidris. This is a 2-part virtual workshop series that will be recorded. And yes, you can finally learn how to identify ALL the Calidris Sandpipers, especially the Seven Deadly Stints!
