Jake has been a wildlife lover all his life, but he wasn’t a birder until a striking male Red-shouldered Hawk established a territory in his yard. Over the months the Hawk continued in his territory, attracted a mate, and successfully raised a family.
Jake’s studied the pair of Hawks every chance he got and Jake’s interest grew deeper. Jake began to do “research” to determine how to tell them apart, record their behaviors, vocalizations, and interactions with the other raptors in his yard. Join Jake as he tells the story of the family of Red-shouldered Hawks, Buteo lineatus, who set up nesting territory in his yard. It will be an interesting, educational and fun evening.
