Leader: Calvin Bonn
Join us for a 3-hour trip to Bolsa Chica in Orange County, where we should see a variety of terns. This trip is scheduled shortly after Calvin’s webinar on tern identification as an opportunity to practice identifying terns. We will spend a few hours walking around at least the inner bay, and possibly the Brightwater channel if time permits.
Although we will spend extra time looking at or discussing terns in the field, we will also look for other birds! Bolsa Chica is an excellent birding location and has a large variety (and large numbers) of shorebirds and wetland birds, including some that are difficult to find in LA County (like Reddish Egret), and shorebird migration means that we might find surprises. Who knows what will tern up there!
After making a reservation below, you will receive a confirmation and you will be emailed more details including the meeting time and place.
