Magnolia Warbler

Field Trip: Long Beach Migrants

Sat, Sep 28, 2024

Leaders: Merryl Edelstein, Christine Jacobs, Kim Moore, and Becky Turley

The end of September is the height of fall migration for passerines like warblers, vireos, and flycatchers. There should be a good variety of migrants and possibly a rarity.

Join us to hunt for fall migrants in the Long Beach/Lakewood area! This area features multiple migrant hotspots such as Signal Hill, Willow Springs Park, West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail, and Wardlow Park.

Because it is hard to predict where migrants will show up, we will scout multiple locations a few days ahead of time. We will then decide the meeting place and notify participants by email, the day before the trip.

You must sign up before or on September 26, so that we have time to email the meeting place to everyone.

Currently signup is limited to LAB members, who will receive an email with instructions for how to sign up.
