Field Trip: Gulls of Malibu Lagoon

Join us for another trip to look at gulls this winter. This will be a beginner trip to study gull flocks along the immediate coast. We should be able to study good numbers of California, Western, Ring-billed and Heermann’s Gulls of various ages; and will hope to find some birds that we cannot identify. We suggest looking through Andy’s gull worksheet before the trip, and we will try to go over many of the field marks during the trip. We will walk along the sandy beach for about a mile. Please bring your spotting scopes if you have them, and dress for cold and windy conditions with the possibility of light rain.
